El Toro & Port Adriano
El Toro could be considered a small, quiet locality in south-western Majorca if it weren’t for the luxurious marina of Port Adriano. The latter is deemed to be one of the most modern marinas in the Mediterranean. Since the harbour was completely redesigned in 2012, superyachts of up to 100 metres can now moor here – much larger craft than in Puerto Portals, for example. Even if you don’t have a boat moored to the stylish bollards here, you can still stroll by, enjoying the maritime atmosphere and a taste of this whole world. The designer of the marina is none other than French ace designer Philippe Starck, who has also presented the glamorous scenery in the proper light with lamps reminiscent of Grandma’s good old living-room lamp.

The marina is an upmarket spot in the municipality of Calvià so it’s sort of the top dog in El Toro. It draws plenty of visitors, with numerous events such as concerts, yoga sessions at sunset, the Isla Race obstacle course and the Aftersun Market. This is a shopping paradise too, with stores carrying designer clothing and the finest of beachwear. Furthermore, there are all types of yacht and nautical services available, including boat charters.

You’ll find a whole range of restaurants here, serving tasty fish, charcoal-grilled and vegan specialities. Fans of Asian and Italian cuisine will also be happy campers. And on the outer pier, you’ll no doubt be tempted by the delicious options at Coast by East Mallorca and Sansibar Wine (an offshoot of the iconic Sansibar restaurant from the German North Sea island of Sylt). El Toro has evolved tremendously, not least due to the Port. It’s almost as if it awoke from a deep slumber. Suddenly, everyone was paying attention to El Toro! Its official name is “Cala de ses Penyes Rotges”, but most people simply call it Playa de El Toro.
