One place, four coves – Cala San Vicente
Cala San Vicente actually has four coves with beaches, each having special features. They provide you with a selection of sandy and rocky beaches. That’s exactly what makes this former fishing village in the north-west of Majorca so interesting, as the coves Cala Barques, Cala Clara, Cala Molins and Cala Carbó give you so much variety in a small area.

Cala San Vicente or Cala Sant Vicenç is a world unto itself. It is a quiet holiday and seaside resort that feels secluded. Even so, Majorca’s capital of Palma is only about 45 minutes away by car. There is a whole array of hotels, holiday apartments and holiday homes available for visitors and the range includes basic accommodation as well as a five-star hotel. Many foreign residents also own their own property in this bay that is actually four bays in one. The location is simply fantastic.
The gateway to the north-west
Regardless of your accommodation, Cala San Vicente is the ideal starting point from which to explore the northern region of the island. Why not nip over to Pollença, or Port de Pollença, or into the Tramuntana mountains? Or of course to the spectacular Cap de Formentor, which extends far out into the sea. Even the winding approach is an amazing experience in itself, not to mention the views of the rugged and rocky landscape of the north. Rambling along the coast, exploring the area by bike, golfing, snorkelling, diving, kayaking – or just listening to the sound of the waves…Cala Sant Vicente is small but by no means boring.
Paella, grilled fish, seafood
The playas are separated by the Sierra del Cavall Bernat. Sun worshippers have their creature comforts taken care of by the little bars and restaurants surrounding the beaches. Whetting your appetite with paella, fresh grilled fish and seafood, for example, you have Restaurant Cala Barques with its sea-view terrace. Or you could find a shady little spot at the Cala Sant Vicenç country hotel not far from here, where you can treat yourself to Majorcan slow food dishes.
